I Don’t Want To Sleep Alone

Can’t remember when was the last time I watched a non main stream movie. This one just caught my eyes when I’s browsing pamphlets in Arts Centre. So instead of going for dinner, we decided to watch “I Don’t Want To Sleep Alone” instead.

When I went buying tickets at lunch time (movie starts at 8pm), I asked the girl how full the booking is (coz it’s free seating). She made an embarrassed look and said “Err… 都仲有好多位剩既…”. When we turned up, we found that there’s only 4 people in the theatre…

Compare to main stream movies, this one has very few dialogues. Almost all shots are taken with the camera stationary, like those directed by 小津安二郎. However, most shots are not taken from a lowered position.

Here’s the synopsis in the pamphlet:

一夜，流浪漢小康在吉隆坡被劫和襲擊至重傷。一群孟加拉外籍勞工拯救了小康，並收容他回宿舍。在街上檢到一張又破又舊床褥的男人拉旺，讓受傷的小康跟他一同睡。而當茶室的女待應琪琪遇到小康，抑壓的慾望變得一發不可收拾。小康日漸康復，卻發覺自己跟拉旺、琪琪和她的老闆娘陷在複雜難纏的關係之中。煙霾來襲，潮濕的城市內混雜著不同種族的汗味益發強烈。男男女女和舊床褥迷失在重重煙霧中，卻又同時尋獲對方，彼此以沫相濡。本片除了有導演愛將李康生一人分飾兩角，還是蔡明亮第一次回到家鄉馬來西亞拍攝電影。以台灣為基地拍了七套長片後的蔡明亮，在故地拍出前所未見的觸動。

大阪﹑京都﹑東京

距離貼相的今天﹐這差不多是三年前的旅程吧。

這是在2004年9月下旬和阿肥﹑冼拿﹑Cindy﹑阿叔阿嬸一起在大阪﹑京都和東京度過的十一天。在小時候與家人參加『本州﹑九州』旅行團時曾經到過東京一遊﹐十多年後再臨此地﹐一點印象也沒有。

十一天的旅程中﹐有過半是由冼拿安排妥貼的﹐行程非常豐富緊湊（不過行得真係甘!!）﹐在此謝過冼拿!

此旅程中的高潮其實是去看Game Show﹐場面果然非常墟陷!當拿著傻瓜DC在場不停的拍﹐感覺好滿足!不過當之後檢閱拍下的照片時﹐發覺其實拍得差勁得很﹐但又不捨得刪掉﹐這應該是為甚麼我用了差不多三年的時間才把它們整理好吧。

回想這次的旅程﹐好象每一樣事物都很新鮮刺激。之後再到訪過日本兩次（名古屋世博和北海道）﹐雖然都好玩﹐但感覺總比不上這次。我不然想起《麥嘜微小小說》裡一個關於火雞的故事…

火雞的滋味，未吃與吃第一口間，已是它的最高峰，之後，不過在搓磨。
